Music Basics understands its customers' needs to upgrade an instrument.
Whether you are a student, serious amateur, or professional player, there comes
a time when you have outgrown your instrument. With Trade-In Guarantee,
you can trade in for the same or greater value violin outfit. You get
- 100% credit when trading in for a better model
and greater
value violin outfit
- 70% credit when trading in for the same value
violin outfit
The following is a list of
violin outfits that come with Trade-In Guarantee.
(These violin outfits also come with 10-Day Money Back Guarantee.
For details, please click on the link 10-Day Money Back Guarantee.)
The Trade-In Guarantee
allows young
students who have outgrow their smaller size violins to get bigger sizes and violin players who
have advanced beyond their instruments to get better violins. This
Guarantee provides upgrading at only a fraction of the cost of buying a new
violin outfit.
You can trade-in a violin outfit in 1 year, 2 years or as many
years as you want. We will honor the guarantee no matter how many years you have used the
violin outfit. You can trade-in a violin outfit for another violin outfit
(regardless of the size and brand) as long as the new violin outfit's value is
of equal or greater value than the original purchase price of the violin outfit
being traded in. You trade in the whole outfit (including violin, bow and
case) and get credit for the whole outfit, not just the violin itself.
Here are examples of how trade-in credit is calculated.
100% CREDIT WHEN TRADING IN FOR A BETTER
MODEL AND GREATER
VALUE VIOLIN OUTFIT
Let's say you purchase a new 4/4 size violin
outfit (with trade-in
guarantee) that costs $500. 1 to 2 years later, your playing skill
requires a better violin that would respond better to the more demanding pieces
you are working on. Since you have no need for the current violin outfit anymore, you can
trade it in for a new better violin outfit.
The credit on the current violin outfit that gets applied to the new violin
outfit is calculated by taking the original purchase
price minus a recondition fee of $55 for the violin, bow, and case.
Since you bought the current violin outfit at
$500, the credit is $500 - $55 = $445. Let's say the new violin outfit is
$1000, you will only need to pay $1000 - $445 = $555 and you get a much better brand new
violin outfit.

* If the violin outfit traded back has major damages, such
as cracks or chipped corners on the violin, a repair fee will be assessed and applied and you will get a smaller credit to be applied to the
new violin outfit. If the damage is beyond reasonable repair, Music Basics
reserves the right to not honor the Trade-In Guarantee.

100% OR 70% CREDIT WHEN TRADING IN FOR
BIGGER SIZE VIOLIN
Music Basics works very closely with schools and
teachers hence we understand the problems parents face when buying violins for their children. Buying a good violin
will become a waste when that size becomes too small. With the Trade-In Guarantee, you get to use a
terrific violin
without having to worry about what to do with it once it becomes too small.
Let's say you purchase a new 1/2 size violin
outfit (with trade-in
guarantee) for your
child that costs $400. 1 to 2 years later, your child will need a 3/4 size violin.
Since you have no need for the 1/2 size violin anymore, you can trade-in the 1/2 size for the 3/4.
The credit on the 1/2 size that gets applied to the 3/4 can be calculated 2
ways.
- If the 3/4 size violin outfit is of the same
model or same
value (also $400), then the credit is calculated by taking 70% of the original purchase
price minus a recondition fee of $55 for the violin, bow, and case.

- If the 3/4 size violin outfit is of a better
model and greater
value (let's say $600), then the credit is calculated the same way as the
above example on trading up to a greater value violin outfit: the original purchase
price minus a recondition fee of $55 for the violin, bow, and case.
